Morning Announcements
The following procedures will be used
to manage schedule changes and keep students in classes as much as possible.
ONLY STUDENTS THAT DO NOT HAVE
COMPLETE SCHEDULES OR ARE DOUBLE BOOKED will be allowed to make appointments
with their guidance counselors during the first two days of school. Staff will
be stationed outside the guidance office and will schedule appointments at 15
minute intervals for students to see their counselor. Students will be given a
pass with the time that they should come to meet with their counselor. Students
will not be allowed to hang around guidance.
Aside from incomplete schedules and
double booked schedules, guidance counselors feel it is important that Freshmen
be allowed to make an appointment to meet with their counselor if they feel it
necessary.
Students looking to add or drop
classes will be allowed to do that on Friday and through next week by
appointment only. Teacher signatures will not be required at this time.
Beginning September 13 add drop slips must be signed by the classroom teacher
of the dropped class as well as the added class. Prior to September 13 we are not going to require that
students get a teacher signature so as to expedite the process of all the
changes.
Students (Grades 10-12) will not be allowed to make
level changes until they have had what has been considered to be an
adequate time to appreciate what the expectations are for the class. Counselors
will begin to see upper classmen beginning the week of September 20 to consider
level changes. Due to the high
enrollment numbers, movement is very limited. We are hoping to curb the level drops. Teacher
recommendations that were put into PowerSchool were the levels that were
assigned except if there was a parent reconsideration form completed. We need
to encourage our students to challenge themselves and to reach beyond their
perceived potential.
We will begin tomorrow morning, Thursday, September 1 with
a 15 minute homeroom period.At
that time the Junior class will report to the auditorium and all other grades
will go to their homerooms.
Any freshman interested in playing should
see Coach Dubzinski in the guidance office.
