Morning Announcements
March 10, 2010

Congratulations to the computer team of Daniel Brenner, Daniel Meyer and Subu.  They placed 7th out of 25 teams from Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire at last Wednesday’s WPI computer competition.  Great job!

The competition play, “Liberty Street” will be performed for the public on Friday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.  The company is going to the state semi-finals on Saturday.  Come see an original play that Wachusett can be proud of.

Attention Writers and Artists:  The Nickel Paper is looking for submissions for its second issue.  The theme this time is “The Mind.”  Please send or give submissions to Ms. Leschke.  Place them in the folder in C214 or see any board member.  We take photos, art work, poetry and prose.  Look for the first issue to come out soon.

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in trying out for lacrosse tomorrow at 2:30 in the cafeteria.

Anyone trying out for volleyball next Monday should meet in the gym after school today and Friday for captain’s practice.

The next book club meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 14.  We are reading Margaret Atwood’s classic "The Handmaid’s Tale."  All are welcome to participate.

Girls Indoor track team please bring $5 to the meeting or banquet for captain’s money to Rebecca or Katie.

Math Honor Society members are reminded to bring in baked goods for Friday’s bake sale.  Bring in Friday morning to the Echo office.

There will be a meeting for all those interested in trying out for Boys’ Tennis on Thursday at 2:30 in the cafeteria.

¡Oi!  Come learn Portuguese!  We will have a lesson after school on Thursday this week in room B110 at 2:15.  All students and faculty are welcome.  The International Club will provide snacks.

Cooking Club will meet Thursday after school in room D205.  Please bring $1 to cover expenses.

Beat the crowds on March 15 and get your green cards signed today.

Sign up now for the March/April Driver Education course.  It starts on Tuesday, March 23.  Sign-up sheets are on the table in front of the General Office.  Students are reminded that the Registry requirements, mandate that you must be 16 years old, have a current Learner’s Permit and a parent must attend a 2 hour orientation before you complete the course.

All girls interested in spring track and field are invited to a pre-season meeting on Thursday at 2:30 in the gym.

Mark your calendar for Friday, March 19!  The Hypnotist show is coming back.  See your favorite seniors be hypnotized.

Muevete Dance Club will meet in G106 today at 2:20.

There will be a girls tennis informational meeting immediately after school today in the gym.  New and old members are welcome.

Want prom to be the bomb?  Don’t ride with mom.  Take our limousine and stay clean!  SADD is raffling off a limo ride for you and 9 friends to your junior or senior prom.  Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and go on sale today.  See a SADD member to purchase yours.
